

Scott Richardson
Scott N. Richardson was admitted to the Florida Bar in December 1978. He received his Bachelor of Arts with Honors degree in 1975, and his Juris Doctor in 1978, both from the University of Florida. Following his admission the bar, Mr. Richardson worked for three years as a prosecutor in the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office. He prosecuted a variety of cases, including homicides. In 1981, Mr. Richardson entered private practice, primarily handling civil cases. In 1986, Mr. Richardson formed a partnership with two other attorneys and began defending criminal cases. The partnership lasted 21 years, after which he formed his own firm specializing in criminal defense. From April 2010-February 2012, Mr. Richardson joined the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office as the First Assistant State Attorney, responsible for supervising all 125 prosecutors. In February 2012, Mr. Richardson returned to the private practice of law, again specializing in the defense of criminal cases.
Mr. Richardson has been board-certified in Criminal Trial Law since 1996. He has been AV rated by Martindale Hubble for over 25 years. He was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2010. He has been listed in Super Lawyers since 2019 and Best Lawyers in America since 2017. He served as a member of the Florida Board of Bar Examiners from 2012-2017, the last year as Chair of the Board.
Mr. Richardson has served as a visiting professor at law faculties in Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia and Belarus.
