Ramona Birlog is a member of Litigation and Arbitration Department of Firon Bar-Nir. Ramona has 10 years of experience as a litigator. Ramona represents foreign investors and local commercial enterprises in the real estate sector, European Funds and governmental authorities on dispute resolution matters. Her expertise consists primarily in civil, commercial, administrative and real estate and property law litigation. Ramona handles complex real estate and commercial disputes and claims with respect to property and ownership rights, expropriation, lease and tenancy matters.

Prior to her engagement with Firon Bar Nir, Ramona specialized in Intellectual Property disputes having worked as in-house counsel the Romanian Association of Phonogram Producers (UNPR), Romania’s main collective management organization for the music industry. In this capacity, she advised UNPR on numerous cases regarding ownership of copyright, infringement, enforcement issues. Ramona also represented clients before the Reexamination Committee of Patent for Inventions – State Office for Inventions and Trademarks, the Court of International Commercial Arbitration and the Arbitration Panels organized by Romanian Copyright Office.

Ramona has an in-depth knowledge in the field of copyright law and related rights, her practice also extending to regulatory activity. Ramona drafted proposals for the amendment of the Law no. 8/1996, (Law on Copyright and Neighboring Rights), methodologies regarding the licensing process for the usage of music and for the distribution of collected remuneration owed to the recording companies. She has also been involved in drafting regulations for local public services and public procurement documentation.

Ramona is an assistant professor at “Valahia” University of Targoviste, specialized in constitutional and administrative law. She has published several articles on various issues in leading journals in Romania.
