Ignisious Gaisah (born July 20, 1983) is a Netherland athlete, born in Ghana, competing in the long jump with a prestigious career due to the remarkable results but also of the longevity.

He started as a football player but due to an accident at the age of 15 he decided to become an athlete, first as a high jumper but finally he stayed with long jumping.

During his long prestigious career he won several titles and broke several records like:
– Gold medal in 2001 at Africa Junior Championships, with a new Africa record 8.15 m
– Silver medal in 2005 at the World Championships in Helsinki
– Gold medal in 2006 at the World Indoor Championship in Moscow
– Gold medals at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne 2006 and Delhi 2010
– Gold medals at the African Championships in Abuja 2003, Bambous 2006, Maputo 2011, Porto Novo 2012
– Several achievements and national titles in Ghana, national record holder 8.51 m
– Since July 2013 he officially competes for the Netherlands becoming 3 times the National Champion and also the national record holder 8.29
– Silver medal at the World Championships in Moscow ( new national record for the Netherlands 8.29)
– Gold medal in 2014 for Team Europe at the IAAF Continental Cup In Marrakesh
– Bronze medal in 2016 at the European Championships in Amsterdam
– Several times the winner of Diamond League and Golden Fly, prestigious competitions organized by IAAF

Nascut pe 20 Iulie 1983 in Ghana, naturalizat Olandez, este un atlet cu o cariera remarcabila atat prin prisma rezultatelor cat si datorita longevitatii.

Pana la varsta de 15 ani Ignisious a practicat fotbalul dar in urma unui accident a trecut la atletism.
A inceput cu saritura in inaltime ca mai apoi sa treaca la saritura in lungime.

Pe durata prestigioasei cariere a castigat nenumarate titluri cum ar fi:
– Campionul Africii la juniori in 2001 ocazie cu care a si stabilit un nou record la juniori cu o saritura de 8.15 m
– Vice campion Mondial in 2005 la Campionatele Mondiale de la Helsinki
– Campion Mondial in 2006 la Campionatele Mondiale Indoor de la Moscova
– Campion Commonwealth in 2006 si 2010
– Campionul Africii in 2003 in Abuja, Bambous 2006, Maputo 2011, Porto Novo 2012
– Nenumarate titluri de campion al Ghanei pt care inca detine recordul national 8.51 m
– De 3 ori campion al Olandei incepand cu anul 2013 fiind detinatorul recordului national 8.29 m
– In 2014 a castigat medalia de aur reprezentant echipa Europei la IAAF Continental Cup din Marrakesh
– Vice campion Mondial in 2013 la Campionatele mondiale de la Moscova , ocazie cu care a si stabilit un nou record al Olandei 8.29 m
– Medaliat cu bronz la Capionatele Europene din 2016 de la Amsterdam
– Nenumarate titluri la competitii prestigioase precum Diamond Leaque si Golden Fly organizate sub egida IAAF
