Catalina Ana is a competition law expert and coordinates the Competition law practice of VILAU | ASSOCIATES. Catalina started her competition work as case handler at the Romanian Competition Council and prior to joining VILAU | ASSOCIATES she worked as a senior lawyer in another leading Romanian law firm. Catalina has an extensive experience in representing clients in various complex competition and State aid cases, including investigations, down-raids and related litigation before the national competition authority and courts and the European Commission. Her practice covers the full spectrum of competition law (merger control, cartels, anticompetitive practices and agreements, abuses of dominance, litigation/damages claims and State aid) across a wide range of industries including automotive, pharmaceuticals, airports, oil and gas, food and beverages, financial services, waste management and postal services. Catalina is involved in developing and implementing customized antitrust compliance programs and training for employees and management as well as in performing competition law audits. In addition, Catalina has developed a significant expertise in advising and representing clients before Romanian public authorities and the European Commission on the transposition and application of Community law in Romania. Catalina Ana is a graduate of the University of Bucharest Faculty of Law and member of Bucharest Bar Association. She is fluent in English.
