Alina Zechiu

Alina Zechiu is a Director with Alvarez & Marsal Restructuring in Romania. She is a professional with more than15 years of experience in insolvency, bankruptcy, business restructuring and debt recovery strategies. Her primary areas of concentration include managing highly complex insolvency and bankruptcy cases, leading negotiations between different stakeholders, Court representation as judicial administrator or liquidator, advising corporate clients facing financial difficulties, as well as NPL due diligence. Ms. Zechiu has worked with clients across a range of industries, including automotive, building materials, real estate development, tourism, and the chemical industry.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Zechiu held several leadership positions in companies specializing in debt servicing, receivership, and winding-up proceedings in the Cypriot market. Previously, she spent 11 years with the Business Restructuring Division of BDO Romania, where she served as Director.

Ms. Zechiu earned a bachelor’s degree in law and public administration from Spiru Haret University, Bucharest. She is a licensed Insolvency Practitioner and a member of UNPIR Romania and Insol Europe. A Romania national, Ms. Zechiu is fluent in Romanian and English, and conversant in Italian and Spanish.
